Eloise, Therapy Dog In-Training

She/Her/Hers

Hi!! My name is Eloise, but you can call me Ellie if that’s easier for you. My mom, Emmalyne Farwell, LISW, says that I’m a “Teddy Bear” (half Shih Tzu, half Bichon Frisé), but I prefer to be referred to as “the best girl”. Thankfully for my mom, I don’t really shed since I’m half Shih Tzu! I have received professional training and continue to train as I am working towards certification as a therapy dog. However, I think the training is really for my mom. I’m already perfect.

My mom takes me to work with her sometimes — which is my most favorite thing!! I love getting to make new friends at the office. I would call it my mom’s office, but we all know it’s really mine. Some of my favorite things to do at work include providing clients with a sense of safety/security when processing difficult feelings and experiences, providing a warm and calming presence, and being a “professional” snuggle provider. I take that last part very seriously. I love to make people smile, laugh, and feel good about themselves by giving them my bestest smile and undivided attention as soon as they walk in the door. I am a great listener, and I love to help clients with emotional regulation by providing a warm, grounding presence.

When I’m not busy being a working woman (someone’s gotta pay those bills), I love spending time with my big brother, Oliver, and our pawrents. I love listening to Taylor Swift with my mom, going to coffee shops with my mom, watching true crime documentaries with my mom — no, no, it’s true! I literally watch the TV when my mom puts on true crime documentaries or Grey’s Anatomy —, or doing literally anything with my mom. Oh, also — did I forget to mention pup cups?

At Meadowlark, we’re here for you.
