She received her Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Mt. Mercy University, and she also holds an MFA in writing from the University of Iowa. Prior to becoming a therapist, Jillian studied and taught personal narrative writing for many years. She found that what she loved so much about writing was the process of making meaning out of life, and weaving that meaning into stories. She views therapy as also being a storying process, one that can help us better understand that the stories we tell ourselves are not the only possible ones we could be telling ourselves. She views the therapy process as a way to help us make sense of life experiences and our place in the world in healthier, more adaptive ways. Jillian has experience working with trauma, adoption, blended families, couples, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She works with children and adults. Her approach to treatment includes narrative therapy, collaborative therapy, play therapy, art therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, and mindfulness interventions. <image:caption>Telehealth Only (She/Her/Hers) With life comes hardship—but not all is lost. As a Christian counselor, Holly is passionate about guiding others toward emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. She understands that a person’s faith can play a vital role in healing and invites interested clients to integrate it into treatment. Her desire to help others build emotional intelligence, resilience, and healthy coping and problem-solving skills inspired her to pursue her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa in 2019. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Holly works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress related to life changes. Her treatment approach draws from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Strengths-Based approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Whether rebuilding after hardship or seeking greater emotional and spiritual balance, Holly offers a compassionate space to explore growth and healing.</image:caption>

(She/Her/Hers) Nicole is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). She began her college education in psychology at the University of Northern Iowa in 2010. After moving to Iowa City the following year, she went on to complete her BA (2014), then her Master’s degree in social work (2016), at the University of Iowa. Nicole views therapy as a shared experience built on the grounds of trust, genuine human connection, and a nonjudgmental atmosphere. Her therapy style is flexible and responsive to each client. Variety will likely be present even within a single session, with experiences ranging from processing an intense emotion to practicing a new skill, or simply taking a moment to share in some humor and laughter. Nicole acknowledges this process of therapy can feel like a large, expansive horizon, and takes care to center the discussed goals for treatment in guiding the therapeutic experience. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Mindfulness are core modalities Nicole draws from. She is open to working with teen and adult clients experiencing mood disorders, life transitions, relational concerns (including exploration of various relationship dynamics, such as with polyamory), emotional intensity, ineffective coping, OCD, and processing of identities (such as with gender and sexuality). Nicole understands in addition to therapy, some clients may be utilizing treatment options such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECTs), and Ketamine/Esketamine treatments. She is open to working with clients in these contexts and has a foundational knowledge base on these interventional treatments to inform therapeutic care. In her free time, Nicole enjoys being with friends and family, crafting, soaking up sunshine, snuggling with her cats, watching a good thriller, trying new recipes or restaurants, and certainly isn’t immune to the occasional scroll of a social media explore page.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Eloise - Eloise, Therapy Dog In-Training</image:title>
<image:caption>She/Her/Hers Hi!! My name is Eloise, but you can call me Ellie if that’s easier for you. My mom, Emmalyne Farwell, LISW, says that I’m a “Teddy Bear” (half Shih Tzu, half Bichon Frisé), but I prefer to be referred to as “the best girl”. Thankfully for my mom, I don’t really shed since I’m half Shih Tzu! I have received professional training and continue to train as I am working towards certification as a therapy dog. However, I think the training is really for my mom. I’m already perfect. My mom takes me to work with her sometimes — which is my most favorite thing!! I love getting to make new friends at the office. I would call it my mom’s office, but we all know it’s really mine. Some of my favorite things to do at work include providing clients with a sense of safety/security when processing difficult feelings and experiences, providing a warm and calming presence, and being a “professional” snuggle provider. I take that last part very seriously. I love to make people smile, laugh, and feel good about themselves by giving them my bestest smile and undivided attention as soon as they walk in the door. I am a great listener, and I love to help clients with emotional regulation by providing a warm, grounding presence. When I’m not busy being a working woman (someone’s gotta pay those bills), I love spending time with my big brother, Oliver, and our pawrents. I love listening to Taylor Swift with my mom, going to coffee shops with my mom, watching true crime documentaries with my mom — no, no, it’s true! I literally watch the TV when my mom puts on true crime documentaries or Grey’s Anatomy —, or doing literally anything with my mom. Oh, also — did I forget to mention pup cups?</image:caption>
